How does Johnson Matthey Metal Joining Support its Customers Technically? Technical Expertise - Metal Joining supports its products with the help of a technical department. Sales representatives are technically trained and are the first line in providing help and advice on how to use or solve problems associated with the products we sell. Design Solutions – The ideal time to offer technical advice is at the beginning of a project. Metal Joining is able to support customers through the early design stages of developing a new product or process with practical design solutions. Problem Solving – Our technical department offers advice on a wide range of problems including technique, joint design or quality, the need for improved productivity, process reliability and metallurgical issues. Advice may be offered over the phone, in a technical report or through a customer visit. Samples, Literature and Training – One of the earliest principles of Johnson Matthey’s product sales support was to offer samples, high quality technical literature and practical demonstrations. This tradition continues today.

Health and Safety and the Environment - Issues associated with the incorrect use of cadmium containing filler metals and disposal of lead and cadmium containing products are widely recognised. Johnson Matthey recommends cadmium-free and lead-free products wherever possible. Unless a sound technical reason exists for doing otherwise we will not recommend the use of cadmium or lead containing materials.
